Leopard Robotics is officially up and running. We just got registered as FTC Team 36672, and we have already started building a strong base for the season.
On the outreach side, we have been working with the Cedar Rapids STEM Circle to host several camps. During the last week of July, we hosted a coding camp for students in grades 5-8. The students learned the basics of Python programming through concepts like loops, conditionals, and functions. Leopard Robotics has also prepared and organized a robotics camp for students in grades 5-8. The students will learn the basics of robotics, including mechanical design, in OnShape, and software development, in Java. Students have also gained businesses skills through pitching themselves and contacting local businesses to build support for our team.
On the technical side, we have begun working on developing key skills for the season. The hardware team has been hard at work assembling parts lists for the upcoming season. They have also been practicing their OnShape skills and been creating designs based upon leaks for the upcoming season. Our programmers have downloaded Android Studio, and the REV Hardware Client and have begun expanding their knolwedge of the FTC Software Development Kit (SDK). Additionally, they have been learning advanced software concepts such as Pedro Pathing, and Computer Vision.
