August has been a busy month for Leopard Robotics. Through the Cedar Rapids STEM Circle we ran a robotics camp and a math workshop that introduced students to basic robot design, sensors, and problem-solving.
In addition to those events, we hosted hands-on sessions covering introductory programming with Python, basic electronics, and CAD in OnShape. Students iterated on simple mechanisms and practiced writing control logic; many signed up to stay involved with the team.
We also received generous support this month: $250 from Casey's, $250 from Hills Bank, and a 25% parts/manufacturing discount from GoBuilda. These contributions are already helping us move faster on prototyping and ordering key components.
A milestone for our community: we reached 1,000 followers on Instagram this month. Thank you to everyone who followed and supported us. Follow us on Instagram at @leopard_robotics_36672.
We continued focused skills-building across hardware and software: CAD, electronics, and programming drills are ongoing as we finalize our parts list and prepare for build season.
Looking ahead, volunteers and mentors have sketched a phased build schedule. Over the next few weeks we'll finalize orders, lock down team roles, and begin prototyping. If you'd like to help (mentoring, donating parts, or offering workspace time), please reach out via our contact page.
